The Transylvanian Bear Races are not just an opportunity for you to challenge yourself in a spectacular setting, but also to raise money for the event charities. These organisations work to protect Transylvania's unique cultural and natural landscape and also commit considerable time and resources to the event:
The European Nature Trust, an international charity that works to preserve and restore the last remaining areas of wilderness and degraded habitats in Europe.
Fundatia ADEPT, a local charity that works to protect the nature-rich farmed landscapes of Transylvania, and to support the traditional farming communities who have created them over centuries and who maintain them today. Also they are responsible for the maintenance of the trails, for which a fixed donation of is included in the entry fee.
International runners commit to raising £200, Romanian runners commit to raising €55.
